Creation Seventh Day AdventistsPrinter-friendly version
However if you are not familiar with Conference Adventism, or just vaguely so, or perhaps just want a brief description of who we are, I'll continue with this page. We believe that when the nation of Israel placed themselves under Roman authority, crying "We have no king but caesar" they 'unchurched' themselves, their house was left unto them desolate, and they were the Church no longer. When this happened, the Apostolic church was called out, and those who were of the Isrealite fallen body were told to repent - All the house of Israel, though only the leaders crucified Christ. Awhile after this, quite awhile, the Apostolic church joined to Rome under Constantine, and started up a chain of events that will remain in the memory of all, young and old, til the beast meets it's end in the lake of fire. By inducing Pagan errors into her doctrine and joining to Rome, the early church became "Babylon," which means confusion. When she used civil power to persecute, as I feel I should not have to go into detail regarding the Catholic church's history in this area, she consummated her marriage to the state, and as an organization was the body of Christ no longer. So, once more the true people were called out - The Reformers. Now to this point most non-Adventist protestants agree - It is after, that I will most likely begin to inflame my readers. :) (Note: If you are Roman Catholic and I have lost your agreement already, please visit the Prophecy section, more specifically the Daniel chapter 7 summary, and contact me with any questions or objections.) The reformation was a progressive movement, the ridding of false and Pagan errors taken out of Rome with the protestants. Sadly along this way there were many stops which people made - Some people stopped receiving new light after Luther and shut themselves off from new learning, adopting creeds - becoming denominations. Others progressed on to Calvin and Calvinism; after Calvin some stayed, some progressed to Wesley, etc. Now this eventually lead into the Millerite movement of the 1800s; what drew people from all denominations into the Millerites was the focus on biblical prophecy, as well as the teachings that because of prophecy, Christ was to return in september of 1844. Millions of people were followers of this movement, and when September came and went, it became what is known in history as the "Great Disappointment." Out of the Millerite movement several members of different denominations gathered together, and continued to study the prophecies to see what had happened, where the movement had gone wrong. This lead them into an understanding of what actually was reffered to as happening in 1844 - the end of the prophetic 2300 days of Daniel - as the "cleansing of the sanctuary." These people continued to gain new light through study and prayer, and by way of a Seventh-day Baptist studying with the group, of the things restored as a whole to this movement was the true Sabbath day. By 1860 they agreed upon a name - "Seventh Day Adventists," by revelation to a (believed to be) female prophet in the movement, Ellen G. White. In 1863 a General Conference was formed to keep in organization the various congregations and local conferences. Around this time, those protestants who had not continued in the reformation movement to Millerism and then Adventism, sealed themselves off once and for all from any possiblity of being Yah's true faithful bodies. After settling where they were and adopting doctrinal creeds or dogmas, they joined with the U.S. governement and used it's power to enforce Sunday laws, commonly called "Blue laws" which are still on the books, though obviously not enforced, in many states. This was a time of persecution for the Adventist church, as Sabbath keepers were subject to property confiscation and jailing for their practices. Among those key in getting these laws repealed was an Adventist man named A.T. Jones, who became a 'key player' in the movement in this and another way, as we will address shortly. They continued to grow and to come into new light, spreading it as they received it, with especially strong emphasis on the three angel's messages of Revelation. Among the Pagan/Papal beliefs (I apologize if this offends - Please contact me if you wish to discuss the following assessments from scripture, or search this site or Binary Angel for relevant materials) that they abandoned were the Trinity, the natural immortality of the soul, hellfire being eternal, and Sunday Sabbath. As the year neared 1888, more light continued to come into the movement and by two young pastors, E.J. Waggoner and A.T. Jones, a doctrine called "Righteousness by Faith" was discovered, and presented to the Conference at an annual camp meeting. This message, which we now term the Victory, was rejected harshly by the Conference at that meeting. The Adventist "founders" or "pioneers," that is, those people who had actively been a part of the post-Millerite reformation and the receiving of new light through studies and prayer, accepted the message from the young pastors, Mrs. White coming to their defense at that camp meeting. However the damage had been done for future generations, and the Conference officially rejected the message given them in 1888 as doctrine. By this time it had been 44 years since the Great Disappointment, and many of the pioneers had gone to their resting places by way of old age. Mrs. White was still around and remained so until 1915, and many of her writings we still have with us today - Of her many statements, one was that, as seeing the 'founders' all fall to rest, if their works were not kept before the members the beliefs would change. Among those still living was J.H. Kellogg, who was a major contributer to the health reform movement within Adventism, and the founder of Kelloggs inc. (The cereal company) He authored a book called "The living temple," in which he stated some beliefs regarding the nature of the Godhead that would be considered commonplace today - yet were severely rebuked by many other still-living Adventist pioneers, Mrs. White no exception. The major belief in question was that of the Trinity; Kellogg believed that the Holy Spirit was a person, a being - the other founders disagreed sharply, having abandoned this belief long before in reformation. After Mrs. White's death, her predictions regarding the founder's works became quickly and sadly true, as within 6 years an "Adventist Yearbook" was published, with a list of 23 fundamental beliefs - Number 2 was the Trinitarian concept of God, which has remained a belief of the Conference SDA church to this day. They claim it was "New light," ignoring the statements of the founders and Mrs. White that new light will never contradict past light given; and the indicators of a sad widespread desire to bring in something fictitious and label it "new light" was exactly what they had written of as being recognized while they were still living. Time went on for some time, down to the late 1970s or so. I will not go into all the details - they are covered very in depth to the left under chapter three. However suffice to say that from the events that followed, the Conference organization followed the steps of Israel and the Apostolic church - They joined with the U.S. government by filing for a trademark on the name "Seventh Day Adventist." After doing so, they then proceeded to sue people who used the name without being sanctioned members of the Conference organization. (Termed a Corporation at this point on their address and official title) By doing this, they also consummated their marriage to the state, and became Babylon fallen, having re-induced Pagan errors before, (e.g. the Trinity) and now finally persecuting with civil power, having fallen from her high, pure estate. As such, once more a calling out was made of the true believers - This time we took the name of Creation Seventh Day Adventist. This is the history of what lead up to our coming out from among the Conference body and becoming seperate - Now I will tell a little bit about who and what we are, now that it is known where we came from. There was also a period of reformation from those errors that the Conference had imbibed or re-imbibed for us as well. Victory over sin, or the 1888 message, was and is one of the most important things we have 'restored' to its purity and teaching, along with the true teaching regarding the Godhead as taught by the Adventist pioneers - before the errors re-crept their way in. This as well as the seperation message, the call out from Babylon fallen and into the true church - To let all the house of Israel know that they must repent and be baptized for their leader's sins. Among other things lost since the Apostolic days that have been restored by us include the actual names of the Father and Son, "Jesus" being a very poor Greek translation of His actual name. This as well as the feast days, as not all of them were shadows of simply Christ's death, and many are yet to meet their anti-type - Thus, they are to be kept until they do.We believe in most areas the same as Conference Adventists do, doctrinally - We believe the state of the dead is sleep until the resurrection, we believe baptism is by immersion, tithe is 10% of a person's income, hellfire is not eternal, the soul is not naturally immortal, the earth was created in 6 literal days, that the seventh was and is still the Sabbath of the Lord, etc. I cannot think of all to list, so if there are any left please contact me regarding something left unanswered, or visit the site mentioned earlier. At the moment the Creation SDA movement is rather small - The only known church congregation is in a town called Guys in the state of Tennessee, where a CSDA Academy also is up and running. As always, short and narrow is the way, and few there be that find it - Or rather, few there be that will walk in it once found. A large amount of shipping of video tapes and other materials is done to other countries, Russia in particular - The internet has provided a valuable tool in spreading the gospel, and has added believers from different parts of the country and even world to the faith, each with their own 'ministries' to bring those around them to the bible's truths - though because we are not a denomination, we have no real idea of the actual numbers of believers in other countries from such programs as the said sending out of video tapes and materials as orders come in. This has been a short overview of sorts - Well not short, but shorter than it could have been. If any questions arise, please visit the Contact page and reach either me personally, or the Creation SDA church office in Tennessee. May Yah bless and be with you in all ways, from us at the CSDA church.
